A Little About Us
Saturday, April 26, 2008, 01:33 PM EST [General]
Thanks for your interest in Beads & Ladies. Lisa Horn & Kaye Kerley started out making Tudor and Elizabethan designs for dolls. We showed and sold our dolls at events throughout the state of Florida. We kept having our customers request costumes just like the dolls were wearing. So we put our heads together and started making Tudor and Elizabethan clothing. Lisa has recieved a certificate for pearl and bead stringing from the Gemological Institute of America. All of our products are hand made, one of a kind they are not massed produced. There might be times when we will have one or two designs with the same fabric however they will have a different design and trim. All of our trim and beads are sewen on individually by hand. The fabrics that we use most commonly are velvets, tapestries and brocades. The ruffs and cuffs are pleated by hand based upon the way they were produced during the Renaissance period. We currently do several medieval and renaissance festivals throughout the state of Florida. Please check our store locations to find out which festivals we will be participating in close to you! So we hope to be seeing you soon!! |
